Traveling north from Nairobi, you will explore the rolling plains of the Laikipia plateau, where the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre is located. Then you continue on to Lake Nakuru, known for its millions of flamingoes, its protected rhino sanctuary, and other rare wildlife. Following the great Rift Valley south to the legendary Masai Mara Game Reserve, you will encounter herds of zebra and wildebeest, and the huge prides of lions that follow them across the northern reaches of the Serengeti ecosystem. Finally, a short flight takes you to "Uswahilini" - the legendary Swahili coast and the tropical island of Lamu, where you will learn about the legacy of Kenya's ancient city-states and seafaring culture.
