BOTSWANA DESERT & DELTA LUXURY SAFARI (WITH OPTIONAL ZIMBABWE EXTENSION)Trip Length: 14-21 days | Land cost: from $4590
Botswana is one of the last surviving true wild areas of Africa. A country of only 1.2 million inhabitants, it is a land of untouched wilderness and great natural beauty. It is here that you find the 8,000 square-mile Okavango Delta, Botswana's premier wilderness area. Wildlife in the Okavango, abundant in both numbers and diversity, roams free across a landscape of marshes and rivers amid beautiful forested islands. The Okavango gives way to the plains at Moremi and on to Chobe, where you find yourself "among the elephants", as the concentration of elephants here is among the highest in Africa. Other wildlife roam in profusion and diversity, including lion, leopard, rhino, wild dog, sable and roan antelope. From the Delta to the arid plains, by night and by day, you experience Botswana's beauty, while exploring on foot, by boat, and in open landrovers. Then you can choose to continue on to Zimbabwe and have the opportunity to gaze upon one of the most spectacular visual splendors in the world - Victoria Falls, known as "the Smoke that Thunders", and to explore the fantastic wildlife of Mana Pools National Park, along the shores of the majestic Zambezi River.
